An especially meaningful learning
experience was when I traveled to India for a month and discovered how a
dominant culture on the other side of the world functions. Not only did I go
somewhere where the history goes far and beyond that of the US. It was extremely
enlightening to see how a large culture views my own.
Some were definitely big fans of American culture, while others
don’t care for
our ways at all. I loved how traditions from thousands of years still continue
in this day and age. I was extremely impressed with how educated the youth in
the county were. Many were very computer savvy while homeless kids in the
streets knew how to speak five different languages. The intellectual capital of
this country was extraordinary and something to keep in mind over the course of
the next few years as this country continues to grow in population and world
power.
